Who Am I?

My name is Maya, and I started my role as a Technical Training Advisor at Osteopaths For Industry in October 2023. In addition to my role as TTA, I am also in the process of training to be a manual handling trainer, and I am very excited to be getting on the road to being able to deliver OFI training courses.

My Professional Background

I graduated with a master’s in osteopathy from Victoria University in 2021. While studying at university, I worked with a local Australian football club, where I used my growing osteopathic skills as a sports trainer to help manage musculoskeletal injuries. After completing my degree, I transitioned to a busy osteopathy clinic, where I gained diverse experience treating a wide range of interesting conditions.

My Role at OFI:

Fast forward to autumn 2023, and I find myself in London, taking on the position of Technical Training Advisor at OFI. In this role, I promote safe manual and people-handling practices and ergonomics to prevent musculoskeletal injuries. I design and deliver customised training programmes for organisations, covering everything from manual handling and risk assessment to people moving and handling, training the trainer, and ergonomic courses.

The best thing about my job is...

What I love about my role is the chance to reduce the risk of injuries and enhance overall health within the industries we serve. OFI is all about tailoring solutions to meet the unique demands of various sectors, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to be a part of that process.

Outside of OFI...

When I’m not at work, I love being outdoors, hiking, and exploring new places. Before I came to London, I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, and I am excited to explore what the UK and Europe have to offer in the way of walks and hikes. I also love art and music and spend my weekends going to gigs, museums, art galleries or playing my guitar. I am also a big lover of sports. I used to play netball back in Melbourne and will be starting with a team here in London in the new year.

My approach and commitment to your company’s training needs:

My approach to fulfilling your company’s training needs involves ensuring each course I deliver is customised to your company’s needs. It is essential to discover the individual requirements and the specifics of what they may require, ensuring each company receives the best quality training.
